The Polar Music Prize is an international music prize celebrating the power and importance of music.
The Polar Music Prize Award Committee has, apart from its single members’ potential to nominate future Laureates, an international working process for nominations, which enables broader substrate for the Award Committee to relate to in their process. The Polar Music Prize Award Committee receives a growing number of nominations from all over the world, which are taken in consideration before reaching a final decision.
Awarded to individuals, groups and institutions in recognition of exceptional achievements.; No restrictions to nationality.; Awarded for significant achievements in music and/or musical activity, or for achievements which are found to be of great potential importance for music or musical activity, and it shall be referable to all fields within or closely connected with music.
