In this one-hour webinar, the Global Excellence Initiative (GEI) welcomed Imogen R. Coe, Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University, for a timely discussion on embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) into nomination and evaluation processes.

Moving beyond foundational EDI concepts, the session focused on practical strategies to identify and characterize excellence using contemporary inclusive metrics and to navigate institutional resistance to updated approaches to research recognition.

Designed for research office administrators, awards and nominations committees, and academic leaders, the webinar offered actionable insights to support fair, credible, and equity-informed research recognition.
